Ash vs Evil Dead returning for second series

A second 10-episode series of Ash vs Evil Dead, a spin-off of the old Evil Dead franchise, is on its way thanks to US network STARZ. The first episode will arrive in the UK for Virgin Media customers on 3 October.

This time around we'll plunge right back into the action, with poor old Ash leaving Jacksonville to return to Elk Grove in Michigan to confront Ruby. "The former enemies have to form an uneasy alliance," Virgin Media says, "as Elk Grove soon becomes the nucleus of evil."

We reckon there might be a zombie or two in Elk Grove.

The original Ash, Bruce Campbell, is back, as is Lucy Lawless as Ruby, Ray Santiago as Pablo Simon Bolivar, and Dana DeLorenzo as Kelly Maxwell.

There's also a few new faces joining the fray in the form of Michelle Hurd (Daredevil, The Glades) as Ash's high school sweetheart; Ted Raimi (Spider-Man) as Ash's childhood bestie Chet Kaminski; and Lee Majors (The Fall Guy) as Brock Williams. If you're a big Evil Dead fan, you might recognise Ted Raimi from the movies - he had roles in both The Evil Dead and Evil Dead II.

Virgin Media TV customers with a Mix TV, Fun TV, or Full House TV package can watch Ash vs Evil Dead on demand via their set top box. It's available for existing M+ and above subscribers too, plus you've got the whole of the first series available to binge-watch as well.

An episode will be released at 6am every Monday morning - around the same time it's broadcast live in the US, so you don't need to worry too much about spoilers.
