Being OnePlus’s only phone release for 2023, the OnePlus 11 incorporates plenty of advanced specs and high-tech features in its large 6.7-inch frame. While its name suggests it’s a standard flagship, it actually seems more like a Pro model – great if you’re a power user or tech enthusiast.
Availability and price
OnePlus’ 2023 flagship was released in China before anywhere else, where it went on sale on 9th January 2023.
Otherwise, it’s scheduled for a separate release for all other countries, going on sale on 16th February.
In the UK, it launched at a price tag of £729 for the 8GB RAM/128GB variant, and £799 for the 16GB RAM/259GB version.
Design
When it comes to design, the OnePlus 11 is fairly similar to the previous year’s OnePlus 10 Pro. It features a glass back, metal wraparound frame and hole-punch front camera.
The main difference can be found on the back. Apparently inspired by black holes, the rear camera module is now a stainless steel circular unit. It’s certainly striking, and makes the handset stand out from the crowd.
It comes in two colour options: Black and Dark Green.
Display
The OnePlus 11 has a 6.7-inch 2K AMOLED display, with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,440 x 3,216 pixel resolution.
It has a curved screen, which emphasises the sheer size of the phone. It’s one of the larger phones on the market, with its screen measuring around the same as the iPhone 14 Max and Google Pixel 7. If you enjoy watching videos, reading news or mobile gaming, this size should be perfect for those activities.
It also features OnePlus’ popular alert slider.
Camera
The OnePlus 11 features a Hasselblad-branded triple camera system, with a 50MP f/1.8 main lens, 48MP f/2.2 ultra-wide lens and 32MP f/2.0 telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.
What do these specs mean, off-paper? Well, colours are punchy and vivid, dynamic range is excellent, and photos are impressively detailed.
What’s more, the return of the Hasselblad branding (as seen in the OnePlus 10 Pro) means you can play around with Hasselblad-exclusive filters and aspect ratios – something keen photographers will surely appreciate.
Specs
The OnePlus 11 is one of the first flagships to feature the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. This puts it on the same level as the Samsung Galaxy S23, another top phone of 2023.
It runs Google’s latest software, Android 13, right out of the box, with OnePlus’ own ColorOS 13 launcher.
The battery capacity remains at 5,000mAh, which is pretty impressive (particularly as it’s a non-Pro model). Furthermore, it supports an astounding 100W fast charging – one of the fastest on the market, in fact. In comparison, the iPhone 14 Pro caps out at a mere 20W fast charging.
However, there’s still no support for wireless charging.
Is the OnePlus 11 worth buying in 2024?
At the time of writing (February 2023), the OnePlus 11 is OnePlus’s latest release – and it’s certainly the company’s most high-tech, high-spec phone to date. It's also cheaper than other high-end flagship phones. So, if you’re looking for a top-of-the-range Android alternative, the OnePlus 11 is definitely worth considering.
While companies like Apple and Samsung no longer give customers a charger with their handset purchase, the OnePlus 11 comes with an 100W charger and its signature red charging cable. It’s definitely a nice-to-have, and it lets you make the most of the OnePlus 11’s amazingly speedy charging capabilities.
What’s the difference between OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 10 Pro?
There are a few key differences between the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 10 Pro.
First and foremost, the OnePlus 11 is powered by Qualcomm’s latest chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. This means a more powerful performance, with the ability to handle intensive gaming and multi-tasking with ease.
The OnePlus 11 features a LTPO 3 display, while the OnePlus 10 Pro had an LTPO 2 one. This stands for low-temperature polycrystalline oxide – in essence, it allows displays to have a high refresh rate without draining the battery too quickly. So, the OnePlus 11 should be smoother and more power-efficient than its predecessor.
Can I get the OnePlus 11 with poor credit?
When taking out a phone contract for a high-end device, you’ll typically need to pass a credit check with your network. At the time of writing (February 2023), the OnePlus 11 is OnePlus’s latest flagship handset – so, you’ll likely need a decent credit score in order to get approved.
Don’t worry, though – there are other options available, and you can try to improve your credit score. Visit our page on bad credit phones for more help.
There’s also faster charging – an astounding 100W, compared to the 10 Pro’s 80W (which is still really impressive).
Looks-wise, of course, there’s the new circular rear camera design on the back.
