The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G gets you super fast connectivity, as well as many of the same features as the highest-end models in the S20 range. But it'll cost you a fraction of the price.
What's the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G got to offer?
Support for 5G networks means you can get a lot more done with the 5G model of the Galaxy S20 FE. And you can look forward to smoother streaming and better mobile gaming too.
The S20 Galaxy S20 FE is also home to a huge screen, as well as a powerful camera set-up and a mighty processor to keep things ticking over.
Design and display
At first glance you could easily mistake the S20 FE 5G for one of the more expensive models in the S20 range.
Just as with the likes of the standard S20, the S20 FE 5G's design is dominated by its 6.5-inch screen, with a tiny pinhole notch at the top that houses the front camera. The result is a very striking smartphone, indeed.
If you’ve got a really trained eye, though, you’d notice that while image quality on the S20 FE 5G's Super AMOLED display is bright, clear and easily the match of most phones, it’s not quite as stunning as the more expensive S20 handsets.
The back of the phone is plastic. That means that while the S20 FE 5G doesn’t feel quite as premium as top-of-the-range models, it’s much, much lighter.
Camera
The S20 FE 5G is an imaging powerhouse at a price that won’t break the bank. That’s thanks to a rear camera array that takes in a 12-megapixel wide lens, 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens and an eight-megapixel telephoto lens.
Photos are laden with detail and colour. And the Night Mode impresses by turning low light into daylight to make it a log easier to get good results when you're shooting in the dark.
Around the front there’s a 32-megapixel camera for selfies, which makes a really good fist of ‘depth-of-field’ shots.
Battery and processor
The S20 FE’s 4,500mAh battery is the same size as the standard S20. But because it’s powering a smaller, lower resolution screen, the battery actually lasts longer. We easily got a full day and a half out of it.
Powering the phone is a brawny Exynos 865 processor that ensures the S20 FE 5G ticks over smoothly, even when you’re playing demanding online games over 5G and downloading large files simultaneously.
5G connectivity
5G support means you can expect to stream without buffering and play online games with no lag. And you’ll be able to get more done, faster.
