What's the iPhone 12 Pro got to offer?

 The iPhone 12's 6.1-inch Super Retina HD screen is the cheaper version of Apple's two 2020 Pro-branded iPhones. But apart from a smaller display, it's got pretty much the same standout set of features as the Pro Max.

And because the screen is fashioned from special reinforced Ceramic Shield glass, it's tougher and up to four times more likely to survive a drop than any handset in the iPhone 11 range. 

As you'd expect from an iPhone, the 12 Pro features a high-quality steel and glass construction and feels reassuringly premium.

It's also more water-resistant than ever before and can withstand submersion in up to 6 metres of water for half an hour. 

Camera

This is where the iPhone 12 Pro really justifies the 'Pro' part of its title. That's down to a triple-lens camera system that takes the cheaper iPhone models' wide-angle and ultra-wide angle lenses and adds a telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom, and a LIDAR sensor for augmented reality apps.

This incredible set-up results in better, brighter photos in low light than the iPhone 12 Mini and standard iPhone 12 can deliver, as well as much more detail and colour in photos in all shooting conditions. 

Battery and processor

The 12 Pro is powered by the A14 processor that Apple claims is "generations ahead of any other smartphone chip". It's a bold claim, but one that's not unmerited. 

The A14 means that the iPhone 12 Pro is 50% faster than the iPhone 11, which it means it runs with amazing 'zip' even when you're multi-tasking and really asking a lot of your phone. 

The iPhone 12 Pro's battery comes in at 2,775mAh, which is the same size as the standard iPhone 12 despite the fact that it's powering a larger screen.

So if you're a heavy user, you might want to look into a battery pack to ensure you've got enough power to get through the day.

Support for fast 5G networks means you'll be able to do a lot more, faster. You can also expect super speedy downloads and smooth streaming, even when you're watching in 4K.
