After its launch in 2017, the Google Pixel 2 became an instant favourite among mobile fanatics, though failed to resonate quite so much with mainstream consumers.
That said, it was still one of the most impressive smartphones around - combining slick looks with excellent performance features that made it worthy to stand alongside the latest iPhone and Samsung Galaxy handsets.
Right now, though, it's all about Google’s next flagship, the Pixel 3 XL.
Here’s the lowdown…
When will the Google Pixel 3 XL be released?
Both the Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL were announced on October 9, and will be available from November 1.
How much will Google Pixel 3 XL cost?
The Google Pixel 3 XL will set you you back £869. Though it isn't cheap, it's still less expensive than the iPhone XS Max and Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
Fortunately, if you can’t afford to fork out that much cash in one go, pay-monthly contracts are a great way to spread the cost.
Google Pixel 3 XL design and features
Here’s some specs that stood out to us…
- Display - with a name like XL, it's hardly surprising that the phone has a big screen and a large a notch. At 6.3in, it’s not as big as the Note 9, but it’s still pretty hefty. The frame of the phone, is aluminium, with a 2960 x 1440 display speaker just below the screen.
- Cameras - like the Google Pixel 3, the XL will sport a single-lens rear 12.2 camera along with a dual-lens at the front and an improved visual core-chip to boot, plus HDR. In short, it's an impressive bit of kit.
- Battery - In terms of the battery, we have wireless charging, and an impressive a 3732mAh battery that should give the phone enough juice to run all day.
- Android Pie - in August 2018, Google introduced Android Pie - an updated Android system with a host of special features like adaptive brightness and battery life, as well as improved security features. Along with the Pixel 3, the 3 XL will be the first Google phone to have Android Pie straight out of the box.
Google Pixel 3 XL specs
Like the Pixel 3, the XL sports an updated Qualcomm Snapdragon for 4GB RAM and increased storage, along with fingerprint readers mounted on the rear.
