What SIM-only deals can I get from Talk Home?

Talk Home has a good range of SIM-only deals, all simple and straightforward affairs with very competitive prices. You can get…

Monthly rolling plans – 30-day bundles that give you a set 5G data allowance and unlimited calls and texts – change or cancel your choice whenever you like

12-month plans – Commit to a year-long plan and you’ll get a monthly 5G data allowance plus unlimited calls and texts, at an even better value price than a 30-day SIM

Pay-as-you-go – Choose Penny Pro for a true pay-as-you-go SIM, or grab a cheap bundle with 30 days to use it

International plans – SIM plans designed to let you call international destinations for cheap

You can get international plans with dedicated minutes to call a set country – including Angola, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Ghana, India, Jamaica, Nigeria, Pakistan, Poland, or Romania.

Or grab a Global plan that gives you international minutes to call 40+ destinations, which covers much of Europe as well as Australia, China, South Korea, New Zealand, USA, and more.

The monthly rolling plans at the top end of the range also give you 100 international minutes as standard.

Is Talk Home a good network?

Talk Home is a good choice if you’re after a simple, flexible SIM that offers great value for money. Its international plans are some of the best on the market for phoning folks abroad too.

It is limited in its offering though – Talk Home won’t be much good for you if you want a phone contract, or any of the extras you’d get with a bigger network. There’s no priority concert ticket access or free streaming services, for instance.

But if you’re just looking for a straightforward SIM, that gets you 5G for cheap with none of the bells and whistles, Talk Home is well worth considering.

Can I get an unlimited data Talk Home SIM?

No. The maximum data allowance you can get right now from Talk Home is 200GB per month.

You can also buy a data bolt-on if you use up your allowance before the month is up.

What network does Talk Home use?

Talk Home is an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator), which uses EE’s network to connect you. That means you get all the benefits of the widest network coverage in the UK, as well as its speedy, widespread 5G.

Roaming with Talk Home

Off on holiday? You can roam in 45 European destinations with Talk Home at no extra cost – just use your monthly allowances as usual.

You can use your SIM in most other international locations too, but pay-as-you-go roaming rates will apply. There’s no option to buy a roaming bundle or pack, so this may get expensive.

Frequently asked questions

Are Talk Home SIMs 5G enabled?

Yes. All Talk Home SIMs include 5G data service as standard. You just need a 5G-ready phone to connect.

Should I get unlimited calls and texts?

All pay-monthly Talk Home SIM plans come with unlimited calls and texts.

It generally works out better value than using PAYG. But if you mostly use apps to keep in touch with people – such as WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger – you really only need to look at data allowances.

How do I cancel a Talk Home SIM-only contract?

If it’s a 30-day or pay-as-you-go plan, you can just choose not to renew your allowance at the end of the month. Then, contact Talk Home to cancel the SIM entirely.

If you want to keep your number, ask for a PAC (porting authorisation code) to transfer your number to a new SIM.

Can you get pay-as-you-go Talk Home SIMs?

Yes – you can get true pay-as-you-go from Talk Home with the Penny Pro plan. It costs 1p per text, calling minute, or MB of data you use.

However, unless you’re an extremely light phone user, it’s better value to sign up to a 30-day plan. Or buy one of its PAYG bundles, which give you a set allowance (up to 150GB with unlimited calls and texts) and a month to use it). It’s still totally commitment-free, with no need to renew it if you don’t want to.
