Is Talk Home a good network?
Talk Home is a good choice if you’re after a simple, flexible SIM that offers great value for money. Its international plans are some of the best on the market for phoning folks abroad too.
It is limited in its offering though – Talk Home won’t be much good for you if you want a phone contract, or any of the extras you’d get with a bigger network. There’s no priority concert ticket access or free streaming services, for instance.
But if you’re just looking for a straightforward SIM, that gets you 5G for cheap with none of the bells and whistles, Talk Home is well worth considering.

Should I get unlimited calls and texts?

It generally works out better value than using PAYG. But if you mostly use apps to keep in touch with people – such as WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger – you really only need to look at data allowances.
How do I cancel a Talk Home SIM-only contract?
If it’s a 30-day or pay-as-you-go plan, you can just choose not to renew your allowance at the end of the month. Then, contact Talk Home to cancel the SIM entirely.
If you want to keep your number, ask for a PAC (porting authorisation code) to transfer your number to a new SIM.
Can you get pay-as-you-go Talk Home SIMs?
Yes – you can get true pay-as-you-go from Talk Home with the Penny Pro plan. It costs 1p per text, calling minute, or MB of data you use.
However, unless you’re an extremely light phone user, it’s better value to sign up to a 30-day plan. Or buy one of its PAYG bundles, which give you a set allowance (up to 150GB with unlimited calls and texts) and a month to use it). It’s still totally commitment-free, with no need to renew it if you don’t want to.
